With backgrounds spanning aircraft engineering, maintenance operations, regulatory compliance, and quality management, the team combines practical industry knowledge with strong technical and regulatory oversight to ensure that all operations are carried out to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
Michael Van Melkebeek
Founder / CEO / Accountable Manager
Michael Van Melkebeek is a 20+ years experienced licensed EASA aircraft engineer, who has been maintaining various commercial aircraft for several companies including Sabena Technics, European Air Transport, and FLM Technics. In recent years, Michael represented Icelandair Technical Services, the technical arm of Iceland’s national air carrier and one of the world’s state-of-the-art MROs for Boeing 757/767 aircraft, where he worked as a Station Manager in Moscow, Russia.
Michael assembled a team of professional aviation individuals in Iceland to support and assist with the approval and start-up process.
Presently, Michael is motivating a team of highly skilled engineers to deliver safe and reliable fleet operations.
Guðni A. Kristinsson
Owner / Compliance & Safety Manager
Guðni A. Kristinsson has extensive experience in aviation quality management and regulatory compliance. He has held key quality roles within several aviation organizations and served as Quality Manager at Bluebird Cargo, where he was responsible for overseeing quality systems and ensuring alignment with EASA regulatory standards. Guðni has also supported multiple airlines with the development and refinement of their quality procedures, safety frameworks, and operational processes.
Guðni contributes his structured approach and strong industry insight to Hi-Jet Aviation, strenghtening the company’s quality culture and supporting safe and reliable maintenance operations.
